When around Chicago, Favreau landed his foremost film role, when a tubby private instructor D-Bob in the sleeper hit Rudy (1993). Favreau would meet Vince Vaughn—who also played the role therein film—in a period of the shooting of this film. He so moved to Los Angeles, where he made his breakthrough inside 1996 as an actor-screenwriter with a film Swingers—a film that certainly was "money," & which too brought Vaughn great deal fame when the glib & above-positive Trent Walker, a hone foil to Favreau's brokenhearted Mike Peters.

A next month, he appeared in the college film PCU alongside Jeremy Piven, and too stepped into the world of television to play a guest role around many episodes of the sitcom Friends. He rejoined Piven inside 1998 as part of Very Bad Things (1998), and late appeared in Love & Sex (2000), co-starring Famke Janssen. Favreau had a bit of screen period as a lawyer in the 2003 blockbuster Daredevil (2003). He guest-directed an episode of the college dramedy Undeclared in 2001.

Too around 2001, he manufactured his (film) directorial debut by using an additional self-penned screenplay, Made. Manufactured once more teamed him higher using his Swingers co-star Vince Vaughn but it somehow lacked the spark that mass produced Swingers therefore interesting & pleasurable. In the fall of 2003, he scored his first fiscal profits as a director, a hit comedy Elf starring Will Ferrell.

Jon today has the TV series called Dinner for Five which airs on the cable TV channel IFC.

He has the boy, Max, born July 25, 2001, and the girl Madelaine natural April 2003.
